About me
Hello my name is Lucy and I offer online psychotherapy sessions to fit what you are looking for.
I am fully qualified in Systemic Couple & Family Psychotherapy (MA), and Art Psychotherapy (MA). I am a qualified supervisor.
I am registered with The Association of Family Therapy & Systemic Practice (AFT) and accredited by the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) & Health Care Professions Council (HCPC).
I have over 25 years’ clinical experience working therapeutically with a diverse range of individuals, couples and families. I am experienced in working in many types of settings, including the NHS, social services, the charitable sector and through private practice.
I work collaboratively with a strength and resilience-based approach, supported by the latest evidence-based principles.
My approach to psychotherapy draws on psychodynamic AND systemic models. I am trained in & incorporate additional approaches in my practice including Narrative therapy, Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing (EMDR), Mindfulness therapy, Sand tray therapy & Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT).
My practice takes an anti-oppressive stance recognising the impact of societal structures of oppression on lived embodied experience.
I have a special interest and experience of working with clients with experience of adoption and the care system, reconstituted and step-families, working with bereavement and working with the LGBTQ+ & trans community.
The connections between the mind, body and emotions can be an area of exploration in therapy. Sessions can integrate mind-body techniques, & use of images &/or objects to support process & expression, especially when words can be hard to find.
I always work with client feedback and regularly review my practice through supervision, training and self reflection.
